Community building: the missing ingredient

Hi, Point Network family!

The first quarter of 2023 has been a whirlwind, with events unfolding at an unprecedented pace that nobody could expect. If you're struggling to keep up, you're not alone!

What happens next? It's impossible to predict, with such a pace of events. We may be on the cusp of superhuman-level AGI in the very near future, which could bring about either an extinction event or a utopia. So, hold on tight!

Web3 matters more than ever in this transitional period

While we're living in a world that's changing at breakneck speed, the importance of working on and onboarding people onto the real Web3 remains undiminished, especially in this transition period. This is what keeps us motivated to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Decentralized social media with different algorithms to sort our ever-increasing feed, decentralized crowdfunding, decentralized governance, decentralized journalism - all of this will undoubtedly be important in 2023 as never before.

We are now consulting with the best business and startup consultant available today - an AI consultant (we'll Open Source the tools on how we do it effectively), diving into a SWOT analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement. The results? Many projects know how to hype something up but can't do engineering or invent a new technology. We seem to have the opposite situation: our goals are ambitious relative to the size of our team, and our engineering appears to be rock-solid, but we're really missing the vibrant community to take it the next level through collective efforts. It's become clear that we urgently need to bring together passionate individuals who share our vision of a decentralized internet.

Specifically, we have to build a community of developers who are stoked about using and tinkering with technology that promotes the values behind the decentralized internet, rather than people just waiting for the next airdrop or a handful of day traders idly watching the chart. To achieve this, we're rolling out a series of exciting initiatives.

What's next for Point Network?

Point Web3 Summit: Mark your calendars for September, when we'll be celebrating our one-year anniversary! Join us in Dubai for the Point Web3 Summit, featuring not only our work but also other groundbreaking Web3 and AI startups. Engage in stimulating discussions about the decentralized web and AI, hear from esteemed keynote speakers, and participate in interactive workshops. Although you will be able to see early development releases of our next software iterations, the fully featured production release of Point 2 and Point Transcend will be unveiled during the conference. Stay tuned for announcements about events leading up to the summit!

Point Hackathon: This is what has been needed all along! We're organizing a Point hackathon that'll kick off soon. This global event will bring together developers from around the world, all competing to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges using Point Network's technologies. The winners will not only score a trip to the Point Web3 Summit in Dubai but also have the opportunity to present their projects on stage, both for the live and online audiences. Stay tuned for more details, including registration info and hackathon themes!

"Do what works": We're dedicated to pursuing effective strategies in today's market. Interesting fact: our AI work has garnered more attention, and much quicker, than the web3 browser downloads. And as a result, many people for the first time have gotten into Point through our Alpaca frontend. So, we're doubling down on exploring inventive ways to engage communities and promote the adoption of decentralized internet technology - we will be training AI models and sharing AI tools, especially those that are naturally leading to Point Transcend. More interesting initiatives and collaborations would come the next few months.

As we move forward, we want to say a genuine thank you to all of you who have been early in the Point Network family and supported our small team with your energy, insights, and suggestions. The AI is right though: the key to growth lies in quickly and efficiently fostering a strong, quality community. We can't wait to see how this unfolds and the impact it will have on our collective journey.
